How to Vote in the Town of Wallkill
Your local government shapes your roads, services, taxes and community. Here’s how to make sure your voice is heard this November.
1. Check Your Registration
Confirm you’re registered at your current address through the New York State Board of Elections or the Orange County Board of Elections. Update your record if you’ve moved.
2. Register in Time
Not registered yet? Register online, by mail, or in person through the Orange County Board of Elections. Be sure to meet New York’s registration deadlines ahead of Election Day.
3. Know Your Options
New York offers early voting in the days before Election Day and absentee or mail-in ballots for eligible voters. Contact the county Board of Elections for early voting sites and hours.
4. Find Your Polling Place
Your polling location is listed on your voter registration record. Look it up through the county or state Board of Elections before you head out to vote.
5. Vote on Election Day
On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, bring a plan and vote for the candidates working to move Wallkill forward. Polls in New York are generally open 6:00 AM–9:00 PM.
6. Bring a Neighbor
Turnout in local elections is often low — which means every vote counts even more. Offer a ride, share your plan, and encourage friends and family to vote too.
For official registration status, deadlines, early-voting sites and polling locations, always rely on the Orange County Board of Elections and the New York State Board of Elections.
